A/C, Air Quality, and Smart Controls – Oh my!
What’s most important for your home:
High-efficiency air conditioning, indoor air quality, or a connected smart home?
For our Trane vote for the Hope House in Texas, we are asking you to choose between these three. Many people are having a tough time deciding! We worked with Trane to give you some more information on each feature.
High-Efficiency Air Conditioning
When summer hits, air conditioning is loved by all. When living in Texas, air-conditioning is a must. But not all air conditioners are made equal. An air conditioner that is both powerful and efficient is crucial, especially in hot climates.
The Trane TruComfort™ Variable Speed has power and climate control, with 750 stages of comfort. The technology also automatically adjusts the temperature while maintaining speeds to avoid temperature swings while staying quiet.
When installing high-efficiency air conditioning, look at the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). The SEER rating must be at least 14 and can go as high as 30. The higher the rating, the more efficient the air conditioner. While a higher SEER rating also comes with a higher price tag, budgeting on quality will benefit you – and your comfort – in the long run.
Indoor Air Quality
Allergies and asthma continue to be on the rise. According to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology, many factors may contribute to allergies and asthma, including antibiotics, obesity, and even Vitamin D deficiency.
With people spending more time inside, indoor air quality is more important than ever. Radon, carbon monoxide, and asbestos are commonly tested in homes, but there are not the only things that can cause poor air quality. Mold, chemical pollutants, smoke, insulation materials, carpeting, and housekeeping products can affect the air inside your home.
Trane CleanEffects™ removes up to 99.98% of airborne allergens with breakthrough air cleaning technology. With the lowest pressure drop available, Trane CleanEffects™ traps dust, dirt, and allergens while allowing clean air to move freely. This keeps the air inside your home free of harmful bacteria and pollutants, allowing everyone to breathe easier.
If it’s not smart technology, it’s outdated. From phones to cars to homes, people want convenience in their daily lives. Controlling the temperature, lighting, door locks and energy use of your home from a phone or tablet is not only possible, but it’s also expected in new homes.
Trane ComfortLink™ gives you control of many features in your home through your smartphone, computer, or an Amazon Alexa enabled device. In addition, it monitors your home with a network of sensors to optimize humidity and temperature, and will even alert your Trane dealer if there is an issue with your HVAC system.
